Booking Terms & Conditions

Reservations

Reservations are made directly with George Scott Rides, operated by Nuestro Trade S.L., or through an authorised booking agent.

Each programme is carefully planned as a personal and intimate riding experience, and bookings are subject to availability.

A reservation is confirmed once the required deposit has been received.

Our prices include accommodation, meals (unless otherwise specified), horses and tack, transport to and from the starting and finishing points of the programme, baggage handling, applicable hotel taxes, and the planning and operational costs involved in creating and running each experience.

Prices are based on current exchange rates, tariffs and operating costs. Should there be a significant and unforeseen increase in these costs, we reserve the right to make a reasonable adjustment to the price.

Travel Insurance – Important

We strongly recommend that comprehensive travel insurance is taken out at the time of making your reservation.

Your insurance should provide cover for cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses, personal accident, baggage and appropriate cover for horse riding activities.

Taking out insurance at the time of booking is particularly important. Should you subsequently be unable to travel due to an unforeseen event such as illness, injury, a broken bone or another circumstance covered by your policy, your travel insurance may reimburse you for applicable cancellation costs, subject to the terms and conditions of your individual policy.

George Scott Rides cannot accept responsibility for costs arising from a client’s inability to travel or participate in a programme where those costs would ordinarily be covered by appropriate travel insurance.

We strongly recommend checking your policy carefully to ensure that it provides adequate cancellation, medical and riding cover before travelling.

Itineraries

Our itineraries are planned in advance, but riding in the countryside requires a degree of flexibility.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to routes, accommodation, riding arrangements or the itinerary where necessary because of weather, local conditions, horse welfare, safety, operational requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Whenever possible, any changes will preserve the character, quality and spirit of the original programme.

Riding Trips

Horse riding is an adventurous activity and carries inherent risks.

The safety and welfare of our guests and horses are paramount. The ride leader therefore reserves the right to refuse participation or ask a rider to discontinue a ride if, in their reasonable judgement, the rider’s ability, experience, physical condition or behaviour presents a risk to themselves, other guests, guides or horses.

Guests are responsible for accurately describing their riding experience and ability when making their reservation.

If a rider is unable to complete a programme because their riding ability, behaviour or failure to follow the reasonable instructions of the ride leader makes continued participation unsafe, no refund will be given for the unused portion of the programme.

Payments

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit of the total programme price.

The deposit must be received within fourteen (14) days of making the reservation. Until the deposit has been received, the Company reserves the right to release the provisional reservation.

The remaining balance is due ten (10) weeks before departure.

For bookings made within ten weeks of departure, the full programme price is payable upon confirmation, subject to availability.

Cancellation

All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation charges are determined by the date on which written notification is received.

Cancellation received

Amount retained

91 days or more before departure - €200 per person

90–61 days before departure - 30% of total programme price

60–31 days before departure - 65% of total programme price

30 days or less before departure- 100% of total programme price

No-show - 100% of total programme price

Cancellation charges are non-refundable.

Where the applicable cancellation charge exceeds payments already received, the outstanding balance remains payable.

Clients are therefore strongly encouraged to arrange suitable travel insurance at the time of booking, rather than waiting until shortly before departure.

A Personal Approach

George Scott Rides is deliberately small and personal. Our programmes are created around the horses, the landscape and the people who come to experience them.

We aim to offer an authentic and beautifully considered riding experience rather than a conventional organised tour. For this reason, a certain degree of flexibility is inherent in our programmes, and we ask our guests to embrace the spirit of adventure that makes these experiences so special.

Our priority is always the safety, comfort and enjoyment of our guests, together with the welfare of our horses.
